Executive Summary

Thangatharakai Collective Farm Producer Company Limited was incorporated on 13th March 2020. It is classified as Non-Government Company and registered under Companies Act 2013. This company was promoted by Tamilnadu Small Farmers Agribusiness Consortium (TNSFAC), Chennai and Erode Precision Farm Producer Company Ltd., (RI) under the guidance of Department of Agricultural Marketing and Agribusiness, Salem Dt. The Certificate of Incorporation number is U01110TZ2020PTC033639. Our Company consisting of 820 Shareholders from Ayothiyapattinam block of Salem District. Its Authorized share capital is Rs. 10,00,000 and paid-up capital is Rs. 8,20,000. There are 11 Board of Directors, including Two women Director. Majority of our company members are small and marginal farmers who grow with Paddy, Maize, Millets, Pulses, Oilseeds and Flowers. Most of the Farmers as Producers are unable to realize the right value of their produce. The defragmentation of land, lack of awareness, distrust in scientific practices, less inclination towards technology adoption leads to under production against the optimal potential. The absence of adequate marketing infrastructure, presence of middle man, lack of collectivization effort leads to grabbing less marketing opportunities and earnings. To overcome this problem, Our Company was established with a vision of collective farming so that in future our farmers will be able to fix the price for the produce.

Objective of FPC

Mobilizing farmers in groups at the village level and build their associations (FPOs) at an appropriate federating point to plan and implement product specific cluster/ commercial crop cycles. To build a prosperous and sustainable agriculture sector by promoting and supporting member-owned producer organizations, that enable farmers to enhance productivity through efficient, cost-effective and sustainable resource use and realize higher returns for their produce, through collective action supported by the government, and fruitful collaboration with academia, research agencies, civil society and the private sector. Ensuring access to and usage of quality inputs and services for intensive agriculture enhancing cluster competitiveness and to Facilitate access to fair & remunerative markets including linking producer groups to marketing opportunities by market aggregators to provide the required assistance and resources – policy action, inputs, technical knowledge, financial resources, and infrastructure – to strengthen these FPOs.

Current Business Activities

JAGGERY(வெல்லம்)

The Thangatharakai Collective Farm Producer Company is currently deal with Procurement of oil seeds like ground nut, gingelly, coconut copra and castor. The Company produce at their own unit which is good response from public and sales is going on their factory unit itself also branded their products under the brand name of “THULIR”. Culinary powders like turmeric coriander (roasted) and chilies (roasted) from company adequate machinery and sample preparation is going on and commercially yet to launch. The Company is entering into arrangement some sugarcane farmers for procurement of raw Indian sugar (country jaggery) and also jaggery free from chemicals like hydrosulphate, super phosphate white cane sugar and other chemicals. The bulk quantity of groundnut, Maize and sorghum are procured from farmers and stored in godowns for the fair price and sold to buyers.
